A short analysis of USB relay

The USB relay board has two relays that can easily be controlled from a computer.

This allows your computer to switch the mains for other devices or signals or lower voltage DC power signals.

USB Relay boards make use of industrial, isolated USB ports along with RS-232 double buffered communication ports and provide complete isolation between the field support system, factory floor, building wiring net etc. to their host computer, while at the same time, providing an easy and transparent USB network solution of hundreds of meters long, free of latency and other outcomes.

USB Relay Controller or Data Acquisition Module allows computer controlled switching of external devices as well as full bi-directional communication with the external world by using the USB port of the computer. It is compatible with both Windows and Apple OS X, and also with various Linux flavors.

A complete set of easy to use commands are available for complete control of all relays, I/O channels and sensors. The controller provides four relay outputs with a current rating of 5A each. In addition, it provides a 6-channel Input/Output interface, with each channel individually configurable as Digital Input, Digital Output, Analog Input, or Temperature Sensor. In Digital Input/Output modes, each channel can support a TTL compatible or ST (Schmitt Trigger) input (depending on the channel) or a 5V output signal.

Sometimes, USB Relay Controller or Data Acquisition Module, allows computer controlled switching of external devices as well as full bi-directional communication with the external world (ideal for Data Acquisition applications) using the USB port of your computer. The controller is very flexible and can be used in many custom applications including weather stations as well as temperature monitoring, logging and control as it can be easily connected to temperature and other types of sensors.

There are numerous data USB relays recovery software applications available in the market. While some of them are really good and extremely user-friendly, others will disappoint you. TCP Relay allows redirection of TCPIP socket stream data to an specific IP address and port.
